Handfasting/Tying the knot
A handfasting ceremony has its roots in ancient Celtic tradition, symbolizing the couple binding their lives together and the union of their hopes and desires. (and is the origin of the phrase "tying the knot!"). The two of you face each other with one hand on top or bottom as the knot is being tied

Sand Ceremony

Expresses the coming together of two people or two families into one new family. Typically, each person has a different colored sand and takes turn pouring it into one glass vessel, forming a layered effect.
$15 without materials with materials $15 plus the cost


Unity in Glass

During the ceremony the couple combines glass crystals (like in the sand ceremony). After the ceremony the glass crystals are given to an artist and blown into a beautiful piece of art.

Tree Ceremony

Is when a couple plants a tree together during their wedding ceremony to symbolize their marriage.

Rose Ceremony

In the Rose Ceremony, the Bride and Groom give each other a red rose bud. If you have children involved in the ceremony, you may have a rose for each of them as well. The Rose Ceremony is placed near the end of the ceremony just "after" being pronounced husband and wife.


(optional) As the couple exits the alter area some will often walk to their mothers and present the rose buds to them immediately following the ceremony. The groom hands the mother of the bride his rose, and the bride hands her rose bud to the groom's mother, whispering "I love you," or "I'm happy to be a part of the family,"

Chalice (Wine) Ceremony

The bride and groom both drink out of a single glass three times symbolizing the sharing of all life's experiences together.

$50 includes a one-of-a-kind hand etched wine glass and a bottle of wine


Love Letter/Wine Box Ceremony

Love letters are locked away with a bottle of wine to be opened and read some time in the future.

Unity Candle

The unity candle is lit by the bride and groom from two separate family candles, representing the union of your families and the fact that you and your fiancé are creating a family of your own. Often your mothers light the family candles, and then you two each hold your family's candle to light the unity candle together

Veil, Cord (Lasso), and Coins

The veil covers the couple as a reminder that Christ covers them in his love. It symbolizes that their new home will be a place where God dwells and that they have chosen to live under the mantel of His love. It is also a symbol of the faithful love they have for each other.

The cord/lasso

looped and crossed in the middle, an infinity symbol, is wrapped around the bride and groom to symbolize the Blessed Trinity; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who are one and the same. The cord symbolizes this same union and the infinite nature of marriage.

Jumping the Broom

a time-honored tradition in which the bride and groom jump over a broom symbolizing a new beginning and a aweeping away of the past.
